I’ve made this series to highlight women who are starting out. They have created something out of nothing, following those whispers and are moving forward with bringing their dreams to life. I believe in the power of sharing our stories, supporting and lifting each other up. There is enough for everyone to be successful, in what ever way feels right for them.
I N T R O D U C I N G
Dimi, the founder of Inspired Table, her brand new company that specialises in stocking beautiful French linen tablecloths, napkins, table runners and aprons.
A baker and cook who loves to entertain, I first came across Dimi’s instagram account @celebratebydimi when someone had reposted a photo of the cakes and high tea boxes she also sells.
“The apron is one of the most important pieces of clothing I own. It’s a daily reminder of how much I
love to bake, cook, inspire and connect with the people I admire the most.” -Dimi
1. Would you share a little about yourself and what lead you to starting Inspired Table?
I grew up in a small country town called Temora in country NSW.
I am a trained Primary and Early childhood Teacher, currently working full-time in Teaching.
I also have a Diploma of Event Management.
My Dad is a chef, and my Mum is a baker and a fabulous cook. My parents were restaurateurs for almost 30 years.
I was influenced by the hospitality industry and my parents’ passion for food and creating connection and joy through food and entertaining.
Food is our love language.
I have always loved cooking, baking, entertaining and hosting my family and friends. Connecting around a table with the people you love, and with the food you made from scratch is quite magical. It’s the best feeling and I really wanted to inspire others to do the same so they too could experience that ‘feeling’.
Inspired Table evolved as my baking and styling passions evolved. It wasn’t something I visioned instantly in my future. I just knew I had a gift, and a huge passion and drive to create something beautiful around baking, connection, community, and inspiring others. I took inspired action every day and this is where it led me. I am so excited to be on this journey and to
see where Inspired Table will take me and my community.
2. Favourite time of the day?
First thing in the morning. I am an early riser. I am usually up and starting my day around 5.30 am, even on weekends!
Time is precious and I always want to make sure I make the most of every second in every day!
3. Life is full of distractions, what keeps you focused?
Life is full of distractions; the juggle is real! I am feeling it in this start up stage and with life in general. But what I have found is when you are doing what you absolutely love it is quite easy to stay focused and on track.
4. What has surprised you?
The amount of people who have believed in me more so than myself at times. The generosity, kindness, and support in creating this dream business has been so overwhelming. I am truly grateful for everyone who has been a part of this dream.
5. One piece of advice you would like to pass on to someone starting out?
I have more than one! ha-ha!
Start. Be patient and Trust. Take inspired action every day. Ask for help when you need it.
And most importantly, you must believe in yourself.
