After mentioning this easy peasy drawstring bag tutorial in yesterdays post I have added it here for you. The bags are made from a tea towel, think linen or 100% cotton, organic is great or even a linen/cotton blend. Think about what will match well for the drawstring. Again, stay away from nylon, and anything that frays when you look at it. Each year I have added to our collection and now we have enough bags to just wash and line dry them after Christmas time and put them away with the chrissie decorations. When it comes time to get those decorations out again, we wash and line dry the bags, then use them. The wrapping (in this case the drawstring bag) becomes another part of the present and can be used to store lots of different things.

I know there is a lot on for everyone at this time of year and having an extra 24hours in the day would be marvellous. I got a message last year from a young Mum who wanted her Christmas to be as environmentally friendly as possible, for her little children to get all their presents in these kind of bags, but she just didn’t have the time to make them. And here is the Aunty Jude in me talking, only do as much as you can, there is always next year, there is a new year ahead where you could make a couple each month. What you put your energy into expands and little by little it all adds up. It’s about doing the best we can while looking after ourselves and our loved ones.

Sending Love, Jude x
